Definitions
A Health professional refers to a person who is registered as a practitioner of a particular health profession to deliver health services by a defined scope of practice.
A multidisciplinary team has members of different healthcare professions, each with specialized skills and expertise, who coordinate and communicate with each other to provide quality care.
Culture includes but is not limited to cultures based upon:
- sexual orientation.
- cultures within Māori, Pākehā, Pasifika, and Asian groupings, including identification with culture through birth, adoption, genealogy, or whakapapa.
To work collaboratively means to work with one or more people together to achieve a common goal. An organization’s policies and procedures are the employer’s policies and procedures and include ethical codes, standards, and other organizational requirements. An observer is someone who understands the assessment, works closely with you, and can confirm that you have performed the task competently.
